Art of Taekwondo

“The love of the game is in my heart, which spreads to the blood which I bleed. The passion of playing is in my skin, which is shed when I sweat. Playing isn’t something that you do, it’s a part of you.”

MATEA JELIC (CRO), Youth World Champion (2014) as the female most valuable player (MVP), Olympic Champion (2021)

Respect, concentration, harmony and power. When I started to collect my photo exhibition’s material, these were the main criterions what I’m searched on the pictures. As a tkd practicer with over ten years of press, model and theatrical experience I am able to see behind the scenes. When I press the camera’s button, I try to capture not only the moment, but via faces all the emotions and the way too, that has led to the Now. On the pictures you can see some of my friends worldwide I am proud of, and whom it’s worth to learn. I sincerely recommend them to your attention.

PRAY

“Allah will never let you dream about something if Allah won’t give it.”

Hediye (who was 15 years old when the picture was made), whos biggest goal is to represent Turkey and win a Gold medal at the Olympic. Every morning when I wake up I imagine the moment when I step on the mat to my finale at the Olympics. The moment when I open my hands(as on the picture) and pray to God. When I pray I don’t ask about winning but I ask god to give me the sthrenght to do my best.

PREDATOR

Sometimes technic is not enough, you need to be faster.

I took notice on Tadea (Croatia) at an international training camp, because of her light, almost reminiscent of dance movement. When I found out months later that she will participate in the Croatian Open championship (2013), it was natural that I will follow her fights with camera in my hands.

EYE OF THE TIGER

Action photo about Matea Jelic during the Austrian Open G1 in Innsbruck (2014).

Matea’s friendship is owe to a fortune. In the Croatia Open 2013 one of my foreign hobbyists photographer draw my attention on her upcoming fight.  We bet, which one of us will produce better pictures of her. Even though I did not know any about Matea, her determination and technical superiority quickly outlined not only for me, but in the scores too (15:0). By the end of the day Matea won the Gold medal, and me some good pictures.

Exhibition was visible at the Korean Culture Centre, Budapest, in 2015.
